FAITH: BEDROCK OF OUR BELIEF

Though in existence at creation, man’s total acceptance of Biblical happenings before his being is driven by faith which enables one to see the invisible, believe the impossible and to receive the incredible. Faith, the bedrock of our belief is made manifest through the Word by the power of the Holy Spirit.  From Genesis to Revelation, the Holy Scriptures are not to be doubted in the name of Jesus Christ. Some living cases in point of our entire allegiance to God’s Words:
In the book of John 1:1-5, the Bible tells us that: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without Him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it.” Only those who hold firm to their confession of faith and truth in the spoken Word can confidently be considered members of the Royal Priesthood and are destined kings because our Creator is the same yesterday, today and forever.

Jesus, the Messiah, was not recognized by some of his likes. Those who had faith in the world to come became his followers.  Before His ascension to heaven, He promised to send us a helper (the Holy Spirit) who will live and work for us when invited into our lives. “I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Counselor to be with you forever – the Spirit of Truth. The world cannot accept Him, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him. But you know Him, for He lives with you and will be in you”. (John 14:16-17). It takes only a Converted Faith-filled Christian to accept this for it to manifest in their life in the name of Jesus Christ. By faith, mankind holds that the Holy Bible is more than ancient wisdom. In 2 Timothy 3:16, we read: “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.” This notion is also contained in the book of 2 Peter 1:21: “For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.”

By faith, we believe that the Word refreshes our minds while God’s Spirit renews our strength. We must imbibe the Word and never part ways with it. Joshua 1:8 says: “Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything that is written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.”
By faith, it is believed that divine healing and deliverance is a supernatural phenomenon from God, the creator of all. These are received by faith in the finished works of our Lord who accepted to be crucified for mankind to have victory over sin. By His stripes, therefore we are healed and delivered.
Jesus never said goodbye. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. While His apostles stood perplexed as the Son of man went up to heaven, two men stood by them in white apparel who also said:  Acts 1:11 “Men of Galilee, why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.”  We therefore need to remain connected to the Holy Spirit in the name of Jesus Christ, believing that the Word shall come to pass as promised in the Holy Scriptures.
