Before asking the congregation to observe a minute of silence in honour of the passing into glory of this icon of our times, Dr. Charles Name Menyoli, Senior Apostle John Chi had this to say: Excerpt:
People of God, we thank God for the life of our late father, a hero of faith, a philanthropist, a life changer, a kingdom builder, Doctor Charles Name Menyoli. We all pray that the Almighty God who has gloriously called him to His heavenly home, will grant upon him life perpetual with eternal rest in Jesus’ name.
Our late father, Dr. Charles Menyoli, is remembered for the lives he changed and the quality smiles he put on people’s faces. He had a sense of destiny. He lived for what he was born for and died for what he was born for. What are you living for? What are you prepared to die for? Time with Jesus is time to give account on how you lived your life on this earth. Your contribution to others is an assignment from God. A little example can have a big influence. This is the time for you to foresee that one day people will gather because of you. Only your record here on earth will outlive you. What will you be remembered for?
When a believer dies, he goes into glory where there is no conflict. Before leaving this world Dr. Charles Menyoli had the testimony of his conscience that by the grace of God, he had in some measure answered the ends of living. Death to a good man is his release from the imprisonment of this world and his departure to the enjoyment of another world. He does not cease to be but is only removed from one world to another. This world is not our home. We are only passing through to our permanent home where peace, joy, and comfort reside. Heaven is our resting place, our habitation. We long to be there.
To the departed soul we say, “Shalom”. To the Living God Almighty we say, “Hallow” and to everyone we say, “Emmanuel – God is with us!” I leave you here in faith and pray to meet you again in faith, in Jesus’ name
